LIPICA is a voluntary organization working with rural tribal and dalit people since 1990. LIPICA is registered organization in the state of Orissa in the year 1989. The experience of key persons of almost a decade had thought us that we are the local people of the same District and decided to intervene to work in the back ward areas of Ganjam and Gajapati District. We followed a facilitated approach that helped that develop human resource and sustainable socio economic systems and also allowed to intervention the basic services, emergency intervention for poverty alleviation. The basic underlying philosophy is let the people to empower themselves and build their capacity by acting on the issues by themselves. We at beginning decided that to go down work to stop exploitation calmly understand people and the socio economic dynamics. During such a time encountered a slum community whose miseries were beyond our fixed framed mind. The area is situated just 6 Kms from Berhampur City is known as Langaldei area under Kukudakhandi Block of Ganjam District.
II nd phase after 1 year we started our tribal development work in Tumba tribal area in the year of 1991. The rich experience of key members of LIPICA is quite outstanding. That has become instrumental in initiating developmental work with tribals and their socio economic problems.
LIPICA believes in the system which can be made better to be more effective. The need is to make people aware having all relevant information with them. LIPICA could think of Human Resource Development as centrifugal work force by the chief functionary. We prefaced empowering people through their active participation people centered development inputs reflect with the outcome result.
