Parents Training on ISL

LIPICA organized two nos. of training programme for Parents on Indian Sign Language (ISL) on 12-13 July 2014 and 12-13 December 2014 at LIPICA Training Centre Ambapua. The objective was parents will know the social and emotional needs of deaf children and how to nurture their growth and development through ISL. The training was conducted by Mr. Alok Kumar Jena teacher of TCTD, Bhubaneswar. In each training 35 parents are participated during training following topic are covered on Sign, sign of Alphabets, Name and address, Numbers, Verbs, Sentence, Vegetables and fruits, Bird & Animals, Home Articles, School Materials, Colors and Environment objects.

 

Mothers Workshop

LIPICA conducted a workshop of mothers of girl DYP on 26.04.2015 at Sunaribada of Patrapur Block on Health and Hygienic and prevention of abuses of deaf young girl. Total 37 mothers are participated. The objective was sensitized to mothers on Health & Hygienic prevention of abuse of their deaf girls. They will discuss with their daughter about this matter for self care.

Parent’s Training on Advocacy

Organized a training work shop for parents of DCYP on various provision, Legal frame work and Advocacy/Lobbying at Ghodahada Pani Panchyat office Conference Hall on 27.07.2014. Total Participants 40. Smt. Pranati Mishra resource person from Chtrapur was conduced the training.

The objective  was parents should know about various provision, Schemes and facilities, Rights of deaf children as well as legal frame work for Lobbying and Advocacy on right basic.

Parent’s Association at Cluster Level

Organized follow up meetings on formation of cluster level parent’s association at 4 different cluster such as Kaitha Khandi & Gokarnpur on 15.06.2015 and Padmanavpur & Bomakai on 30.06.2014. In each meeting 25 to 30 parents attended. The objective of the meeting was buildup strong net working among Parents and will play a vital role for Rights of DCYP through Lobby & Advocacy.

Monthly Cluster Level Parent’s Meeting

Conducted 36 Nos. cluster level parent’s association meetings in 4 different clusters. In these meetings discussed on problems of DCYP, Schemes and facilities and Lobby/ Advocacy for Rights of DCYP. By the regular meeting enhancing the parents participation and parents are aware on Govt. Schemes and facilities as well as process of Advocacy.
